Trivia
Fredrik Thordendal has a Special Defects homepage.
The ending is similar to the ending of "Sublevels".
The Japanese version has a bonus track called "Missing Time". It's an old song by Fredrik Thordendal and Mattias Eklund. Here it features Morgan Ågren on drums, Mats Öberg on keyboard, Svante Henrysson on the bass, Mattias Eklund on guitar synth, and Fredrik did guitars and programming.
Radio Station KFAI, Minnesota, USA, once played "Sol Niger Within" in its entirety! This happened on the good 'ol show The Root of All Evil which runs Saturday nights 0100-0600 am. In the beginning of this particular show, the host said he had "a special treat later for all of you Meshuggah fans". As it happened, Fredrik got to hear these news on IRC the same night we had the band invited for the grand opening of www.meshuggah.net, back in 1996.
The part where Magnus Larsson plays the organ was sampled by Clawfinger and used in their song "Biggest & The Best".
